What Happens While An Omni Is In Freeze Protect
An Omni with a Filter Pump configured with Freeze Protect Enabled will enter Freeze Protect when the air temperature is lower than the configured Freeze Protect Air Temperature threshold.
When a Filter Pump enters Freeze Protect the Omni is expected to behave as follows.
- If the Filter Pump is not already running at a speed equal to or higher than the Freeze Protect Speed it will start running in Freeze Protect Mode at the Freeze Protect configured speed.The Filter Pump Speed can be adjusted to a higher speed, but not below the Freeze Protect speed.
- All Accessories and Water Features with Freeze Protect Enabled will change to be running in Freeze Protect Mode and like the Filter Pump, they cannot be turned off.
- While the Omni is in Freeze Protect the automated Heating is suspended and will not run.
- While the Omni is in Freeze Protect the automated water chemistry treatment, chlorination and pH chemical dispensing will not run.
- While in Freeze Protect mode the Filter Pump and all accessories and water features running for Freeze Protect cannot be turned off.
- If the Omni is a two Bodies of Water system sharing the same Filter Pump, such as a Pool and Spa sharing a Filter Pump, the filter pump will run for each Body of Water for 30 minutes and then switch to the other Body of Water for the next 30 minutes and continue with this switching until the Air Temperature rises above the Freeze Protect configured threshold.
- If the Omni has Spillover enabled, Spillover cannot be turned on while a Filter Pump is running in Freeze Protect.
- Any accessory or water feature that does not have Freeze Protect enabled may be operated freely.
- Lighting can be operated freely while the Omni is operating in Freeze Protect.
- Configured Interlocks for Freeze Protect enabled features are suspended in favor of running for Freeze Protect.
Note how the Freeze Protect status of each feature is displayed from the mobile app home screen. Since the example is of a system where the filter pump is shared between the Pool and the Spa the Spa shows that the filter pump is in the Pool Mode.
From the Pool the mobile app displays the Freeze Protect status of the Filter Pump and each feature.
From the Spa the mobile app displays the Filter Pump as OFF and Greyed Out and unavailable since the shared filter pump is running for Freeze Protect in the Pool.
At the same time, the Freeze Protect status of the running features are also displayed .
Filter Pump
While a Filter Pump is running due to Freeze Protect Mode the Filter Pump Speed cannot be set below the minimum speed configured for Freeze Protect Mode.

Spillover
For a system configured to have the Spillover feature, Spillover is not available while the Filter Pump is running due to Freeze Protect Mode.
Freeze Protect Override
Freeze Protect Override is available from the Spa or the Body of Water designated in the configuration as having the High Heater Priority, meaning that for shared heating this Body of Water has the first call on the available heating sources.
Once Freeze Protect Override has been activated the Omni is expected to behave as follows.
- The Filter Pump turns off and is available to turned on at any desired speed.
- Heating will now function when the filter pump is running.
- All Freeze Protect Enabled Accessories and Water Features will remain ON in Freeze Protect operation.
- Spillover if enabled will now be available to be turned ON.
- Interlocks that apply to any feature that is not running due to Freeze Protect now apply.
- Once the selected duration of the Freeze Protect Override is over, the system will return to running in Freeze Protect mode until the air temperature rises above the Freeze Protect threshold.
- Freeze Protect Override may be deactivated, and the Omni returned to Freeze Protect mode at any time while the Override is in effect.
Freeze Protect Override can be activated from this icon located in the Spa (the Body of Water with the High Heater Priority configured).
Once selected a duration of 1 hour (60 Mins), 2 Hours (120 Mins), or 3 Hours (180 Mins) must be selected to run in Freeze Protect Override Mode.
While in Freeze Protect Override Mode the Features all remain running in Freeze Protect Mode.
